What the Research Says About Knee Compression

We didn't invent the idea. We just made it comfortable enough to actually live in.

Published Research

Compression sleeves are one of the few non drug tools with real evidence behind them for knee osteoarthritis.

Research published in the medical journal The Knee found that wearing a knee sleeve significantly improved joint position sense in adults with knee osteoarthritis during weight bearing, the moments that matter: standing, walking, stairs.

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons has reviewed bracing and support as a tool that may improve function, pain, and quality of life in knee osteoarthritis. And studies consistently report an immediate pain easing effect when people with arthritic knees put a compression sleeve on.

None of this replaces your doctor. It's simply why the humble sleeve has quietly earned its place, while so many expensive fixes have not.

What Customers Are Saying...

What's Woven Into Every Sleeve

Every detail exists for one reason: so you'll actually wear it, and find relief.

🎋

Soft on a Tender Scar

Customers with sensitive scars wear it every night. Nothing like scratchy neoprene, and it only gets softer with wear.

🌡️

Doesn't Trap Heat

Warms the joint when it's cold, stays cool when it's hot. None of the swampy heat hospital stockings trap.

🌙

Sleep In It

Breathable enough for all night wear, so your knee gets support during the hours stiffness builds.

🎋

3 Compression Zones

Targeted support above, on, and below the joint, old or new. The right squeeze in the right places.

🧷

Stays Put All Day

4 way stretch molds to a swollen thigh without rolling down or cutting in. On at breakfast, forgotten by lunch.

📏

Real Sizes, S to 4XL

Made for real legs, not the "one size fits most" nonsense. Naturally fresh and hypoallergenic too.

Why Drugstore Braces Can't Copy This

Material

Bamboo, Not Neoprene

Neoprene braces and hospital immobilizers get hot, sweaty, and sticky, so they end up in the drawer. Bamboo breathes, wicks moisture 4x better than cotton, and stays fresh for days.

Design

Built for Around the Clock

Most braces are built for athletes, not people six weeks out of surgery. No straps, no velcro, and it's built for PT days, long car rides, the recliner, and a full night's sleep.

Fit

Made for Real Bodies

Seven sizes up to 4XL and 4 way stretch bamboo. It forms to a swollen knee without pinching, rolling, or cutting off circulation like cheap braces and ace wraps do.

For the Years Between "Not Yet" and Whatever You Decide

If a doctor has ever said "bone on bone" or "torn meniscus" to you, you've probably also heard this: "You'll know when you're ready. Come back when you can't stand it anymore."

So you wait. You're good at enduring, you've done it your whole life. But while you wait, the world quietly shrinks. First the long walks go. Then the garden. Then you're doing the math in the grocery store parking lot.

Waiting doesn't have to mean shrinking.

Whether surgery is years away, or something you and your doctor have decided isn't for you at all, those years are still your life. Onecompress is for right now. It's the simple, comfortable support that helps you keep cooking the Sunday dinner, keep up with the grandkids, and keep the trip on the calendar, while you write your own rules about what comes next.

Nobody should spend years on the sidelines of their own life just because the calendar says wait.

If your surgery date is already on the books, the next part is for you.

What to Expect After Knee Replacement, Week by Week

For the weeks after the white stockings come off and the ice machine goes back in the box. Every surgeon has their own protocol, and every knee heals on its own clock. This is the road most people describe once they're on the other side, and where the sleeve fits along the way.

Days 1 to 14

The hard part

Walker, ice machine, white stockings, leg up on a stack of pillows. Pain peaks around days 3 to 8, and sleep comes in two hour pieces. People call it bleak week. It's normal, and it turns a corner.

Where the sleeve fits: Do not wear it yet. Just have it ready for when the staples come out.

"Be smart & order it before your surgery so you'll have it when your home."

- Cheryl S.

Weeks 2 to 6

Staples out, stockings off

Staples out around day 10 to 14. PT twice a week, chasing 90 degrees of bend, then 100. Somewhere in here your surgeon clears you out of the thigh highs.

Where the sleeve fits: This is when most post-op customers start wearing Onecompress. Easy to get on, soft on the skin and gentle enough for sleep. Ask your PT or surgeon. Most clear soft compression once the staples are out.

"I have been using the knee sleeve instead of the ace wrap the hospital gave me... He was very impressed and wrote down the name."

- Mary K.

Weeks 6 to 12

The Daily Driver

You're driving again, taking short walks and trying to get back to regular life. This usually means a lot of swelling and stiffness by 5pm, and it gets worse overnight.

Where the sleeve fits: Wear the sleeve whenever you need. Daytime, nightime and during all activities inbetween.

"I knew I would need something to help with the swelling from the surgery once I was allowed to stop wearing the compression stocking. This compression sleeve has been great."

- Dennis S.

Months 3 to 6

Back to your life

The swelling has gone down, and the PT sessions are finished. You're still getting stiffness, but starting to wish you had done the surgery years before.

Where the sleeve fits: You're starting to build everything back up, and the sleeve is your secret helper. Continue wearing it for a more comfortable and easier recovery.

"it's been 6 months, but I am still swollen and can be uncomfortable... Your knee sleeve is a game changer."

- Susan T.

Month 6 and beyond

The other knee

You forget about the new knee. The old one feels worse by comparison, and a lot of people book the second.

Where the sleeve fits: Keep a sleeve by the bed, and one in the car for tougher days. Maybe an extra few for your other knee.

"I sleep in them every night and they make my waking up and walking much more bearable."

- Barbara M.

Here's the deal if you decide to try it yourself. Wear it for 60 days. If your knee doesn't feel better, email or call us and we'll refund every penny. No forms, no tricks, no fine print.

Is it okay to wear after knee replacement surgery?

Most of our post-op customers start once the incision is closed and the staples are out, which for many people is around week two. Ask your PT or surgeon first, most clear soft compression at that point. If you're still in hospital stockings, wear those for as long as your surgeon wants them on.

Will it bother my incision or scar?

For most people, no. The bamboo is soft, it wicks moisture away from the skin, and customers with sensitive scars tell us they sleep in it every night. That said, a few people with very fresh or very tender incisions have found any fabric too much in the first week or so. If your incision is still healing, check with your surgeon before putting anything over it.

My surgeon never mentioned anything like this. Should I ask?

Yes, ask. Most clear soft compression once the staples are out. Bring the sleeve to your next appointment and let them see it.

I'm four months out and still stiff and swollen. Is it too late for this to help?

Not at all. Swelling and stiffness that hang on for months are normal, especially after long days or a hard PT session. Plenty of people wear Onecompress long before and after surgery.

When should I order if my surgery is coming up?

It's best to have it before. You won't wear it the first week or two, but you'll want it in the drawer the day your surgeon clears you out of the stockings, and you won't feel like shopping then.

Can I wear it under my immobilizer or hinged brace?

If your surgeon is fine with a soft layer under the brace, yes. The bamboo material is soft, snug and comfortable so it can make wearing bulky braces much more bearable.

How much compression is it? Is it too soft to do anything?

The compression level is 10-15 mmHg which is intentionally lighter than a medical stocking. The goal is something you'll keep on all day and sleep in, not something you fight with. Three compression zones put the squeeze above, on, and below the knee, where it counts.

I'm having both knees done. Do I need two?

A lot of customers prefer ordering multiple sleeves for each knee. Sometimes it's nice to have different sizes depending swelling levels, or an extra pair for laundry days. Lastly, sometimes it's just fun to have different colors to choose from.
